Comments: So this little cub who lost his two sisters at only a few weeks old to a mongoose attack, and then his mother who was trying to fend off a bunch of hyenas so he and his older cousins could dine on a calf of some sort, and then his father returning from his rounds as nothing more than lion skin draped over a skeleton who spots the pride across a prairie, walks toward them and drops dead halfway home ...

Little cub can't keep up with the pride one day and spends a couple nights up a tree playing dead (lion cubs do that when they are alone and scared) until out of sheer luck he stumbles upon his pride again. His aunts are friendly and nourishing (lionesses all act like group moms) but his cousins treat him like a play toy, knocking him about and practically killing him

ps - I'm bummed this early Joubert seems to be abandoned. It doesn't have an IMDb entry and it's not listed on his web site as part of his filmography. I assume it's not going to get a Revisit and Remaster like his Enemies Trilogy and Eye of the Leopard. I'd kill for a hi-def of this
