Summary: Big Cat Tales documents present-day lives of families of the lions, leopards and cheetahs of the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Each episode follows individual characters, drawing the viewer in on a personal journey. S1.E1 ∙ Rebirth in the Mara The Marsh Pride have welcomed new cubs which they must protect from the encroaching buffalo. Malika the cheetah is on the hunt to provide for her young. Jonathan seeks to reconnect with leopard Bahati who has new cubs of her own. S1.E2 ∙ Danger in the Long Grass The Dynamics of the Marsh pride are changing with introduction of the older cubs to Charm's newborns. Malika's persistence to nourish her young leads her to a dramatic pursuit. Bahati reveals her cubs as Jonathan has his first sighting. S1.E3 ∙ Battle on the plains Bahati struggles to protect her three cubs from baboons and lions. The Marsh lionesses hunt an injured buffalo while Malika meets her match in a battle with a large impala. The arrival of 6 male lions puts the entire Marsh Pride at risk. S1.E4 ∙ Faces from the Shadows After months away, the team returns to the Mara during the wildebeest migration. The Marsh Pride are missing and must be found. A rare coalition of 5 male cheetahs has arrived. Bahati attempts to hunt Topi before a crocodile intervenes. S1.E5 ∙ Survivors of the Savanna New characters emerge, including Fig the leopard. Jackson witnesses the 5 cheetah boys cooperatively hunting. Notch and her cubs attempt to journey across the plains. Jonathan witnesses a spectacular crossing before some old friends return. S2.E1 ∙ Kingdom of Predators A dispersed Marsh Pride faces weakened protection from the six male warrior lions. Kabibiand Cloudy Eye desperately hunt to sustain their hungry new cubs. Amani the cheetah works hard to raise three new cubs. S2.E2 ∙ Stripes vs Spots Jonathan discovers the secretive den site of Dada the lioness' newborn cubs. Olare, the leopard, displays a rarely seen mating ritual. The Marsh Pride lionesses face off with an elephant who isn't happy with their presence. S2.E3 ∙ Peril on the Horizon Clashing elephants force the Marsh pride to take cover. Meanwhile, Fig the leopard continues to give vital lessons for a young cub, and the Marsh pride females are threatened by unknown nomadic males. |
