Comments: What a waste of 4K and Ruaha. This is the fourth offering from the French director team who've been based in Ruaha for almost two decades. Zut Alores! This is the worst of the bunch

In a flick called The Kill they cut from the stalk to the dinner table for both a hippo and a giraffe. What's up with that? Where's the kill?

I generally applaud a low-key narrator. I don't know who it is, but he's fine. He just has no story to tell. There's no intimacy nor art in the photography. Nothing here really. Just a boring day in the life of a boring lion pride

Fifteen miles north of where these guys film is The Glade and The Njaa badass mofo lion pride. What a difference a day makes

Summary: A pride of lionesses reigns supreme on the banks of a river in Tanzania. They are merciless hunters, unrivalled in their fearlessness and strength. These killers are feared by all the local wildlife

But for the past few years, this region has been hit by drought, and a dam being constructed upstream has dried up the river’s flow. Whereas prey was once abundant, it has now fled the area, and the lionesses are struggling for survival. They resort to attacking the giraffes for food

The director (Lions Queens, Fighting for Survival and Surviving the Drought) has spent the past five years making wildlife documentaries in the remote reserves of Tanzania. He stayed there for long periods, which allowed him to determine those places where the lionesses would be hunting the local giraffe population

These extraordinary hunts result in epic battles that can last several hours, and the outcome is never a sure thing. This blue chip documentary captures this behavior rarely seen until now
