Comments: " I believe the common denominator of the universe is not harmony, but chaos, hostility, and murder"
Fan service from Werner :) I was surprised how funny this film is. I can't imagine *inventing* these characters. Treadwell himself had funny moments when he wasn't trying to act. Herzog calls him out on that, too -- "when the actor takes over from the film maker" -- but it's the supporting cast that shines. And they shine because Werner knows how to get them to reveal themselves. The whole project was perfect for Werner. I won't bat an eyelash if twenty years from now it's revealed that none of this was real. Werner made it all up. "We hauled away four garbage bags of people out of that bear" Summary: A docudrama that centers on amateur grizzly bear expert Timothy Treadwell. He periodically journeyed to Alaska to study and live with the bears. He was killed, along with his his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, by a rogue bear in October 2003. The films explores their compassionate lives as they found solace among these endangered animals. |
