Comments: I never thought I'd write this sentence:

Ashton Kutcher is awesome in this

Flick is smart-ish, funny, almost insightful, and tries to be fair as best it can. It tries too hard to have an ending but most films need one so I let it slide (some even think it's grand)

I like movies like this that get very close to epic failing almost all the way through but keep countering it with a nice move , so things remain wobbly

This is a bit of a spoiler because it's the timing and the unexpectedness of it that's sublime. If you know it's going to happen it won't work as well, but it's an example of the kind of thing that works for me (beyond almost every moment of Ashton Kutcher):

Coastal Elite attempts to explain Chekhov's gun theory to Texas Backwater Girl. Texas Backwater Girl interrupts, cordially without missing a beat, and calmly interjects: "There's no guns in any of his plays I can think of" ... and begins naming his plays she's aware of
