Comments: I sped through it a bit. I think it was ambitious and, honestly, executed pretty well. But it's not that interesting to me, in either presentation or content. We already know most of what they talked about--not that I think movies need to "teach" us anything new, but it's a conversation that doesn't interest me in a movie, even though (I acknowledge) putting it in the context of "Barbie", a huge cultural signifier, is a shrewd move. And all the "fun" parts? Some good, some not, for me. I mean, you know, I'm never going to watch LaLa Land. Nothing against doing that. It's just not what I'm after in ... spending a couple hours hanging out with
So, I think, like you, rather than watching something I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like that much, better to not watch it than to watch it and feel/say negative things about it
But I did watch it, mostly. I don't regret it, but wasn't moved by it and probably won't ever think about it again
Summary: Barbie suffers a crisis that leads her to question her world and her existence.
