Comments: Enjoyable and captivating, mostly because the three main talking heads aren't idiots: An early A&R woman, the big gun A&R dude (a little hero worshippy, but bright and articulate), and a childhood friend of Slash who was the band's video archivist. Bless that dude.

There are a handful of press clips with Axl and Slash but the only members interviewed are the drummers.

I won't say I never liked the band, or that they sucked or not. I'll simply point out that *Sweet Child o' Mine* is the only GNR song to make it to my iPod. So it's worth something that I came away from this doc impressed and convinced.

There are a few structural gimmicks but they add up to about 5 minutes of the run time. No big. GNR aficionados will already know all this stuff but as someone who ignored them during their tenure I was enlightened. They lived the sex, drugs, and R&R lifestyle at a very high level.

Slash is the only band member I ever liked, because I love riffers, so I think it's also impressive that I enjoyed this without actually liking anyone.

Best anecdotal takeaway was about the time before they had money: strippers --who had lots of money-- supported them and gave them shelter.

Jon Brewer brings alive never-before-seen video footage of Guns N' Roses in their earliest days as a fledgling band, filmed and meticulously archived over the years by their close friend. They became known as 'the most dangerous band in the world' and retained the title for reasons this film portrays, via interviews with band members and those who were there on, and off, tour. Venture down seedy Sunset Strip to the Whiskey, the Rainbow and the Roxy, all known as 'the Jungle'.
