Comments: God Damn. I have never seen anything like that scene of JLaw on the ground getting punched and kicked in the face. It's why I'm not giving this 5/5. I think. For me, a masterpiece has to succeed in spite of something that in any other context would kill a film (for me).

I don't care about any of the grand metaphors here. I rarely do. Like Requiem for a Dream, this is a musically physical, or physically musical, tour de force. The editing and sound design make it so.

Everything takes place in a gigantic house you can never get a sense of because most all the shots are closeups or close followings. You get batted and dragged around. This film breathes, and there's a lot of breathing in it. When you are out of breath there is a rhythm you are mercy to. That's what this film felt like to me.

Summary: A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.
