Summary: Following up on his art house successes Himawari and Tojiru Hi, Isao Yukisada spins this erotic drama about a bizarre love triangle. Miyako (Kumiko Asou) is a beautiful, though dominating, prostitute who feels little sympathy for her sundry of sad sack clients. She lives with Sakiko (Tsugumi), a teenaged runaway who has only her street savvy friend to depend on. One day, Miyako encounters Niitani (played by Japanese indie film icon Masatoshi Nagase) who proves to be a most unusual client -- not only is he not the sort of pathetic middle aged slob that make up her usual patrons, but he is remarkably good in bed. Soon Miyako stops charging Niitani for her services. Meanwhile, the emotionally fragile Sakiko falls off of a two-story building, breaking her leg. When she hobbles back to her apartment (Miyako forgets to pick her up), she discovers her roommate in bed with Niitani. Miyako wants Sakiko to experience the same sexual bliss as she had -- by having sex with the same guy. Though Sakiko resists at first, she soon falls for the mysterious Niitani, while Miyako quietly fumes with jealousy. |
